Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent GED.
  • One year of customer service experience.
  • One year of experience with computer and software systems, including word processing, database, and other business software applications, as well as reviewing, verifying, and processing documents.
  • Successful completion of applicable selection procedures, which may include résumé and cover letter evaluation, a structured interview, a performance test, academic transcript review, reference and background checks, and fingerprint checks.
  • Successful completion of a criminal history fingerprint check and driving history check.
Responsibilities
  • Learn business standards and procedures to support daily operations and enable resources to be reallocated for specific project needs.
  • Receive, record, and route incoming mail.
  • Assist the public and image and index documents processed by the bureau.
  • Process and route commercial driver's license-related documentation.
  • Image and index commercial driver's license and driver control records.
  • Assist the public with inquiries involving commercial driver's license status, medical certification, disqualifications, and record corrections.
  • Research, manage, and maintain State Pointer Exchange Services pointers and Problem Driver Pointer System pointers for commercial driver's license and non-commercial driver's license records.
  • Work with other jurisdictions to correct pointers and driver history.
  • Ensure Montana submissions meet national standards for accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.
  • Address incoming Problem Driver Pointer System pointer messages and take appropriate action on commercial-driver-license-related withdrawals, reinstatements, and corrections.
  • Coordinate follow-up steps such as status updates, record corrections, or notifications to licensing authorities when required.
  • Maintain strict data integrity so Montana driver records accurately reflect out-of-state convictions, withdrawals, or licensing actions.
